Armed detectives have, been . appointed to watch Mr Justice Avory, ps * a precautionary measure, the outconie of- a threatening letter following ,the death sentence on Kennedy., Usually such threats are disregarded. . The authorities, however, attach importance to, this onej owing ,to Kennedy’s, notorious associates. .
Mrs Kennedy says she is terribly shocked, and has written Mr Justice Avory. assuring .him that she did not write, and does not know the author, adding that although convinced her husband did not’ shoot Constable Gutteridge, she was impressed with Mr Justice .Avory’s scrupulous, fairness. : Both--condemned men are appeal* ing.
