Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind westerly to southerly, strong to a gale; weather continue unsettled, becoming much colder, with further rain, and snow in Mackenzie Country. Dominion Meteorologist. Evening forecast: —The cyclone is now centred east of Bank’s Peninsula, and is very intense. Pressure is very low also over the south Tasman Sea. An anti-cyclone is centred over SouthWestern Australia, and is moving eastwards. Expect moderate to strong north-west to west winds, later southwesterly. reaching gale force at many places, especially in and south of Cook Strait, Seas rough north of' New Plymouth and Castlepoint, rough to high seas thence southwards. Weather still stormy and unsettled, with further rain, but chiefly in western districts of Otago. Cooler temperatures.
