STAFF APPOINTMENTS. AA'ELLINGTON, February 3. A further batch of provisional staff appointments in the first division of the Railway Department-, arising from the recent regrading, is announced, incidentally a number of new positions are created. At the district traffic managers’ offices in Auckland, AA T ellingt-on and Chrii.tclnirch a divisional clerk is being installed to relieve the former chief clerk, now indoor ass'stant-traffi" manager, of detailed administration work. Mr A. J.crick assumes the Wellington position and Messrs AV. Barrett and AV. E. M’Ray those at Auckland and Christchurch lyAnother new position is that of locomotive transport assistant, attached to the office of General Superintendent o.' Transport at AA’ellington. The appointee is Mr AV. Flanagan. Three new positions of officers in charge of goods branches are created at New Fly-mouth. Wanganui and Grevinouth respectively. The new title of yardmnster is to be used in respect to officers in rbarge of railway yards in the four main centres. Air T. G. Glasgow is appointed to the new position of outdoor transport assistant for the North. Island, stationed at AVellington, and Air A. Duncan to a similar now position for (lie South Island at Christchurch. Other new positions are those of sight, examiner for North and South Islands. Air F. Herbert receives Die North Island appointment and Air G. Fowler that for the South Island.
