(From Our Own Correspondent,) ALLEGED ASSAULT. Before Messrs Geo. Dash and d’A. S. Grut, J.P’s., C. E. Lavers appeared on a charge of assaulting his wife. On the application of the police, a remand was granted until February 7. KELCY’S BUSH. Car loads from Oamaru, car loads from Timaru, and motors filled from many otlior centres., contributed their quotas to the 150 or so people; who* on Sunday afternoon last, were to be seen quict’y enjoying the play of light and shade over tlie verdant reaches of Keley’s Bush. To those who made their first visit to this very popular picnic place, it came as a pleasant surprise that so much provision is made tor the visitor, and that with all that has been done the scenic values have been enhanced rather than otherwise.
