A PRESENTATION,
With tiio exception of the first year, when Mrs It. Palmer was entrusted with the making of the haggis for the iiurns evening, this responsibility has been shouldered by Mrs J. A. Munro, and the committee, to show their appreciation, paid a surprise visit to Mrs Munro's home for the purpose of thanking her and making her a presentation. JJeputy-Chief E. Munro, who apologised for the absence of Chief Mitchell, extended to Mrs Munro the committee’s thanks for her help, and in asking her*to accept a case of stainless knives, expressed the wish that "she would be long spared to carry out the most important duty connected with the Burns Club. Messrs Longman and E. Palmer also spoke of Mrs Munro’s great help to therclub. Mrs Munro, in acknowledging the great compliment paid her, said that the pleasure she derived from helping the club was quite payment enough, and assured the committe that as long ns the club was run on the healthy lines as at present, she would find the greatest pleasure in helping all she could. Before departing, Mr Longman on behalf of the committee, thanked Mrs Munro for her hospitality.
