Mr E. G. Kerr left by yesterday afternoon’s express for Dunedin. The Rev. C. W. Duncumb left Timarn for Wellington yesterday. Mr R. P. Meek, of Invercargill, who spout tho week-end. in riniaru, left on his return south yesterday. ; Mr A. M. Paterson, M.R.C.V.S., returned to Timaru from Christchurch yesterday. The Hon. J. Craigie, M.L.C., left Timaru yesterday, on his return to .Wellington, Dr N. K. Cox and Mr C. S. Young are at present spending a holiday at 1 lamner. ' : • It is expected that Mr H. C. Moule, the examiner for the Royal T eademy and Royal College of Music (London), will arrive in Timaru on December 1. Owing to the illness of Inspector Kemp, Inspector J. Mcllvency, of Auckland, will arrive in Timaru to-day to temporarily take charge of tUedistrict. Mr W. P. McCracken (Wellington), who spent the week-end at the Hermitage, returned north yesterday. Dir McCracken has been appointed agent for the Mt. Cook Motor Company in Wellington.

A telegram from Carterton says that the Hon. A. D. McLeod, at the opening of the bowling season at Mnrtinborough on Saturday referred to a rumour that he was seriously ill, and was unlikely to stand for Parliament again. He emphatically contradicted the rumour. He was fit and well, and only needed a short rest.
