monthly meeting. The following delegates were present at the monthly meeting of the W.E.A.: —Mr Stewart (in the chair), Mesdames Cossins and Mirams, Messrs Jones. Odell, Koller, Grant, Thomson, Miller, Chapman, Cliffen, Harrow, Arnold, and Griffiths. Apologies were received from Mrs Low and Stockwell, Messrs Watson and Low. The president welcomed as new delegates, Mr S. 11. Harrow, from the Unitarian Society, and Mr G. Chapman, from the N.Z. History Class. Correspondence was received from the following:—■

The Levels County Council, stating they would again affiliate with the W.E.A. Mr O. Duff, saying he could not come to lecture this year.

Mr C. Wood stating he would lecture shortly on “The effects of the Arbitration Court on Primary and Secondary Industries and the Workers.” , , Wharf Labourers’ Union, enclosing affiliation fee. Teachers Institute, appointing Miss Ashton as delegate. Literature Class, enclosing affiliation fee.

It was decided to have a “week-end school” at the end of this month, and to ask’the following speakers to participate: —Rev. A. L. Knight, M.A., Prof. J. Shelley, Mr W. T. J. Ai'rey, M.A., and Mr Vernon Griffiths, M.A. ' „ It was resolved to a'sk the Tutorial College to hold the Summer School at Waimate, if facilities permit, as it would be much more convenient for Otago students than Methven. Geraldine was mentioned as a second place. The resident tutor, Mr H. G. Millar, M.A., reported that the local classes were doing well; that Ashburton had a good class, and that the Waimate class was fair. The secretary reported that five 'donations had been received during the month. The two lectures held were very successful. Expenses incurred to the amount of £1 Os lid were passed for payment.
