PEDIGREE SHORTHORNS.
There was a keen demand for pedigree Shorthorn bulls and heilur.s at th.e annual Government sale at Kuakura, held recently. Shorthorns were more in demand than any other breed offered. Cu'oiiel Holgate. ol Ivii'ipaka, purchased two three-year-old boilers of exceptional quality, with a heavy butter-fat backing lor three. generations. both grand-parents having been imported from the ])nrbalara herd. Colonel Holgate for some years has made a practice of purchasing and taking to his district from two to Ihrce pedigree Shorthorn cows per year.
