TRIANGULAR MATCH.

On Thursday, Wain) ato and AVillowbridge Miniature Rifle Teams journeyed to Timaru to fire a return match with the Timaru Club. Some very tine shooting was registered; the 30 men averaged over 33 > out of 35. There were eleven possibles put on among the three teams. The team scores were: AVillowbridge 337, Waimate 330 and Timaru 339. giving Timaru a win by two points, Willowbridge coming second. The scores were' as follows:

Supper was provided by the home team, which was done justice to and a pleasant half-hour wa.s spent among tiie riflemen in recalling old times. Some of the Willowbridge “never say die men” announced that they were not so good on the 20 yards range, but were good on a longer range, and they would like to have a match at Timaru on the '25. Timaru accepted this challenge, and Waimate also agreed to try their hand with Willowbridge, the conditions being 5 men a side, seven shots, distance 27 yards. The scores were: Timaru 160, Willowbridge No. 1 157. Waimate 157. Willowbridgo No. 2 150. Mr W. Jones, President of the Timaru Club, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors, and lioped they would have many more such matches, as lie was of the opinion that it was these matches that made rille shooting. Mr Faulkner, President of the Willowbridge Club, thanked the 'Timaru Club for the way the.y had boon received. He said they came to Timaru with the intention of heating the Timaru team, but were unable to do so. Air Alalth'is, of Waimate, apologised lor Mr G.
