THE ALL BLACKS
PORTER’S OPINION. By Tnl«rrav.h —Brass Assoclattaa. WELLINGTON, October 7. Altliougu mi names nave been published, einergeue.es have been selected for the- Al! Bluets team. They have not been advised, and this lias been lett by the selectors to the New Zealand Union. V. G. Porter, captain of the 1924 side, and himself an unsuccessful candidate fur inc.usio’n in this team, considers the selectors are to be complimented upon choosing such a well-bal-anced side. “1 think the forward's are a, j?artifu’ai'ly hue lot, having weight, pace, and vouth on their side,” he remarked. ''When they settle down to hard work and acquire combination, j cannot imagine a team of forwards to equal them. 'lhe backs are a good allround set, ineuding some particularly good attacking as well as defensive players, and tnev should take a lot of stopping once they acquire knowledge of one another’s play. 1 fully expect tlie 1928 team to return to New calami with a record equal to that of the 1924-25 team. AYe all hope this will be the ease, and if it is, the men of 1924 left behind oil this occasion will be the first to congratulate them.”
