MARRIED WOMAN'SENTENCED

Ellen Williams (32) pleaded guilty at the Police Court to the theft of a diamond ring, valued at 10 guineas, which she extracted, from a bride’s suit case during a wedding ceremony. Accused, at the time was on probaton for two years for stealing purses from perambulators. The probation officer' could not recommend leniency. ■ Accused, who was a married, woman, bad been living with another man. Her mother had taken her children from her. The sentence of Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M.. was one month's imprisonment. Accused collapsed and fell into the arms of a constable.
