SALE OF SECTIONS.
PAGE’S ROAD SUBDIVISION. A property sale was held in Timaru yesterday, under conditions which were somewhat out of the ordinary, in that the sale was seld at night. The property under oifer is known as Pago’s Road sub-division, Mr T. Doyle tOamaru), having roaded and cut into sections of approximately two acres each, a block of 54 acres, which adjoins the Higheld Golf Links, and has frontages to Page’s Road, and a new road which lias been put through the property. The sale had been well advertised, and on Saturday last, intending purchases were taken to inspect it, free of charge. The sale was conducted by ltunciman, Pryor Ltd., in conjunction with Mr Geo. Reid, and was held in the Wentworth Auction Rooms at 7.30 p.in. Mr Thos. Pryor wielded the hammer. Unusual interest was taken in the sale, and tlict attendance was so large that the auction room was too small to accommodate a good many of those who attended. Of the 23 sections offered, twelve were sold. Bidding was keen, and good prices were obtained.
The following sections were sold:— Lot 1. 2 acres, £3OO, Mr Frederick Carter. Lot 3. 2 acres, £3OO, Mr Owen Feeney. Lot 4. 2 acres 0 roods 3£ perches, £350, Mr J. Mathcson. Lot 6. 2 acres, £3OO, Mrs Mason. Lot 7. 2 acres, £2BO, Mr R. .W. Gainsford. Lot 8. 1 acre 3 roods 19J perches, £2BO, Mr T. Stewart. Lot 9. 2 acres, £255, Mr J. C. Powell. Lot 10. 2 acres, £260, Mr R. W. Gainsford. Lot 11. 1 acre 3 roods 7J perches, £350, Mr A. L. Hudson. Lot 12. 2 acres 0 roods 27.9 perches, £290, Mr J. McKee fry. Lot 13. 2 acres, £250, Mr F. Carter. Lot 14. 2 acres, £250, J. C. Powell. Section 5 was passed in at £255, and section 2 at £270.
