CLEARING SALE AT BEAUTIFUL VALLEY. The Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. j report having held a very successful clearing sale at Beautiful Valley on Saturday last, on account of Mr Thomas Leonard. There was a largo attendance of farmers. Tho horses, implements and plant came forward in 1 excellent order, the result being reflected in the prices realised, draughts up to £43 10s. There was keen competition on every lot submitted. The principal prices are as follows: — Sheep.—Ewe lambs 17s, m.s. lambs 17s, wether lambs 12s Id, English Leicester rams 2 guineas, Romney rams I£ guineas. Cattle. —Dairy cows and heifers to £5 10s, bull £3 11s, bulls 18 months £1 10s, 18 months lioifcrs £1 15s, calves 16s. DUNEDIN WHEAT MARKET. Dalgety and Co’s, report concerning the Dunedin wheat market is as follows: —Millers have all bought lair supplies of wheat from Canterbury, and have sufficient supplies on hand for their immediate requirements. Very few lines of local wheat are changing hands, as farmers are not disposed to stell at Millers’ prices. Millers ,on the other hand, arc showing little interest in samples of Tuscan shown them. Sales of Tuscan have been made at from 5s 4d to 5s 6d per bushel, on trucks, country stations, the usual increase for Hunter and Velvet varieties.
