Mr A. W. Bascand cam© to Timaru from Christchurch yesterday. Mr T. 0. Fox (borough engineer) left for Wellington yesterday. Mr V McKav, of the Tiinaru telegraph ‘branch of the Post Office, has Seen appointed postmaster at Albury.

Mr H. Kellett, of the Albury office, has been transferred to Timaru in place of Air McKay. Captain S. Satthertliwaito arrived in Timaru by the first express from the north yesterday morning. He left for the south in the afternoon.

His many friends will be pleased to learn that Air It. Sliillito, who has been an inmate of a private hospital for the past week, hopes to be able to return to his home to-da.y. Air H. P. B. Alabaster, who for the past two years has been employed at the local office of tlie Public Trust, Office, left Timaru yesterday on transfer to Invercargill. A cable message from Vancouver reports that among the passengers by tlie Aorangi which sailed on Wednesday arei Sir Mark Sheldon, for Sydney, and the lion. Ernest Lapointe (Minister of Justice), who will represent Canada at Canberra opening. Air Lapointe is a powerful statesman and sparkling orator.
