MACHINE BURSTS.
WORKMAN FATALLY INJURED

AUCKLAND, April 7
An accident involving the death of one man and injuries to another occurred at Alexander Donald’s tannery at Drury shortly after 8 o’clock this morning, when a machine used Undrawing wool burst into fragments,
and two of the workers in the vicinity were struck by flying metal. Alexander Donald, a niarr.bd mail with three children, -(‘.siding at Pukekohe, received injuries to his stomach and one thigh. George Rollon, a married man with two chi'dren, res.tling at l’apukura, had his left arm broken and received very serious injuries to ins head and body. Kolton died while oil the way to Auckland Hospital. Donald was admitted to Hospital, and h.’s condition is unchanged.
The cause of the explosion is a mystery. The plant had boon used during the last week, and appeared to be working quite satisfactory. Mr Donald lias been particularly uiifortunato, for his factory was burned to the ground a ! 'ew months ago, and he then lost va'uable buildings and material.
