SWIMMING.
SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS. On Tuesday, at the Century Baths, tlio races for the South Canterbury boliaols’ Swimming Championship (Junior) were finalised, when Mary Rodgers (T.G.H.S.) won _ the 50yds. event alter a close finish, Edna Morrison (Main) being second, with Jean Brewer (T.G.H.S'.) and Sylvia Braccfiekl (T.G.H.S.) ccpial third. As the winner had previously won the 25yds. and 75yds. events, she: was acclaimed the winner of the Championship medal donated, by the Canterbury Swimming Centre. A very promising performer in these races was Edna Morrison, whose chances of annexing next year’s championship lioneurs appear very bright. _ For the boys’ championship, it was again necessary to swim off only three cf the four events, as the young South Canterbury representative, Tom Morrison (Slain), proved himself to he in a class •" above ' his fellows, though Richardson (Marists), Tout (Waimataitai), and Moore (Main) swam splendidly.
