CAR WRECKED BY TRAM. By T^«ifraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, April G. The mofcor-car of Sydney Ernest Chappell was completely wrecked in Valley Road early* this morning, when it was lifted away from the. front of a tram-car that was bound for the city. The accident had occurred through Mr Chappell failing to notice the tram-ear. It nas raining heavily at the time, and his windscreen was blurred. The car was struck broadside on by the tram, and Joseph Chappell, who was with the driver, liad his hand badly lacerated.
RUNAWAY TRAMCAR. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 6. An electric car on a sr.eep grade on the Opoho-North East Valley road at S this morning got out of control through brake failure. The niotorman regained control later but Thomas W. Plall 134), married, jumped tdf during the runaway and is suffering from injuries to the head. He was taken to hospital. ACCIDENT ON FARM. By Telegraph—Press Association. HAMILTON, April 6. A serious accident occurred at Waitetuna, when a farm hand named Alfred Little was working a drill. The horses got out of control. Little was knocked down and the drill passed over his lieatl fracturing the skull. Little is .32 years of age and married, and has a wife and five young children. He was admitted to hospital in a critical condition and lias not yet regained consciousness. DROWNED IN CREEK. By Telegraph—Press Association. HAMILTON, April 6. The infant sou of Howard Meek, of Huntly, was found drowned in a creek at the back of his parents’ residence last night. A neighbour discovered the child. Artificial respiration was unavailing.
