FLYING THE STRAIT.
SOCKBURN TO TRENTHAM,
Hv -01-rvaph— Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 6. A de Haviland bombing, machine, which is being Sown by Captain hindlay of the Sockburn Aviation School, is'Maying an official visit to Trontham, and will probably return south tomorrow C-oming from Sockburn it covered hew teen 230 and 240 miles at an average of 104 miles an hour The speed would have been greater but a north-easter was contended against as far as the Kaikouras. He flew along the coast at an altitude of 6000 feet as far as the mountains. He then diverted his course and passed over Blenheim. He then flew across the Siraits at a height bf 8000 feet. He thinks there should be a landing place nearer than Trentham.
