(From Our Own Correspondent.) HEAVY TRAFFIC FEES.

It was agreed Hint each local body should collect .its own l'cos and distribute these in accordance with the mileage shown to have been travelled in each district. A few days later, a new set of regulations w asreceivod lrom "Wellington, which set out in Clause 8: “For the purpose of distributing the license fees there shall be within each heavy-traffic district one distributing authority, which shall be such one of the licensing authorities within the heavytraffic district as may be mutually agreed upon by such local authorities as aforesaid, or, in default of agreement, as may be nominated _ by a magistrate on “the application of any of those local authorities.” This will moan another gathering of local bodies to re-open the question as to who shall be the “central authority.’ COLLI H CLUB. At the last committee meeting of the Waimate Collie Club, there were present —Messrs JO. Davis (chairman), S. Kennedy, J. Bryson, A. Aubrey, P. Mcßae/ A. Mcßae, A. McKenzie and J. McKenzie.
