MEETING OF COAIAIITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the South Canterbury Hunt was held in Oxford Buildings yesterday. There were prcscnt-tiie Alaster (AH C. L. Orbell) in the chair, Airs B. R. AVoixlliouse, Messrs W. H. Orbell, It. Aiorris, G. McDonald, W. J. Bassett, J. C. Guinness and, F. F. Neale. Ail application for a donation towards tlieir funds was received from tlie Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. —It was resolved to make the usual grant-of £1 Is. Air Barker, Woodbury, wrote stating he was unable to be present that clay, and reporting on tho activities of tlie sub.-coininittec appointed to arouse interest in hunting in the Geraldine district. They- already had a faiir following, and weekly meets throughout Julie and July would be very acceptable. The following programme was approved : —Saturday, April 9., Air C. L. Orbelf's, Levels; lltli., Fairlie; 16th., Saltwater Creek; 19th., Fairlie; 23rd., Porter’s cross-roads, “Tho Cliffs”; 251 h., Woodbury; 2Slh., Whalebones; Alay 2, Sutton Road, Adair; 9th., Fairlie; i4th., At. . Maze’s; - Pleasant Point; 16th., Fairli’; ‘ 2lsfc.,' Arowhenua; 23rc1., Geraldine; 26th., Fairlie, Point-to-Point; 28th., AV. H. Orbed's, “Tho Levels” ; 30th., Cricklewood; June 4, Beaconsfield; oth., Geraldine; lltli., Timaru Point-to-Point. The following were appointed a programme . committee : —The Alaster, Messrs A. S. Elworthy, J. Aiaze, A. G. AlcDonald, and H. Ehvorthy. Tlie selection of course for the point-to-point was loft to the following committee :—Messrs A. S. Elworthy, AV. H. Orbell, J. Aiaze and AI. Harper. It -was decided to apply for July 21, 1928, as the date for the annual race meeting. _ . . - Tho resignations were received of Messrs B. J. Bain and E. J. Vasavour. Mr Vasavour in an accompanying Jotter, referred in very complimentary terms to the work of the Hunt in South Canterbury, and said he had thoroughly enjoyed Inis association with hunting in the district.
