GREASERS DISOBEY ORDERS.

A month s hard labour was inflicted on eight greasers or the Jervis Bay at tlie West Ham Court for disobeying orders.
Captain Chaplin said tko greasers walked from the- engine room to quarters via the promenade dock, inconveniencing the passengers. Vile forbade the practice soon after c(e paiture from Sydney, and Die men’s Union supported th© order, but the local secretary persuaded them to defy it.
The men pleaded that. they u-,ed the promenade deck to avoid A sudden change of temperature . The ship’s doctor expressed fbe opinion that the alternative .route dm not entail special risks.
