Tennis enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association have, after protracted negotiations, been successful in arranging for the appearance of the New South Wales players in Timaru. The manager and team will arrive by the first express from Christchurch on Monday. A Welcome will be tendered by the Mayor (Mr G. J. Wallace) on the Timaru courts at 1 p.m., and play will commence at 1.15 p.m. Wherever the visitors have appeared they have delighted the public with their brilliant play. An admission charge, will be made, as the South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association has incurred considerable expense to ensure the appearance of the team here. Exhibition games will be played, and also matches with leading South Canterbury players.

WAI-ITI. The following players will represent the Wai-iti Club in a match with the Highfield Club on the latter’s courts at 2 p.m. this afternoon: Ladies —Misses F. McNab, J. White, N. Grant, E. McKay, R. Trott and D. Jones. Men —Messrs W. Lewis, J. McKay, W. and R. Rollinson, D. Grant, and Mclnnes.
