PRISONERS SENTENCED. I By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 21. Prisoners were sentenced by Sir Justice Reed in the Supremo Court to-day as follows: —Thomas Kelly, 28, labourer for indecent assault —reformative treatment, His Honour saying that it was a case in which the protection of children was involved. Wiliam Mawson Channen, for thert at Wellington.—Let out on six months’ ; probation to see if he could resist the drink craving; bonds to be furnished, j Walter Worthington, 38, baker, for j forgery and utering at Napier.—Two I years’ hard labour. Prisoner had a badj record. _ I Joseph Francis Ward, 46, labourer and Albert Joseph Belt 43, labourer,' Mr breaking and entering and theft at Palmerston North.— t Two years’ hard labour. Harold Joseph Whittle, alias Tobin, 25, mechanic, for theft of a car and breaking and entering at Feilding.— Three years’ hard labour. Accused had • numerous previous convictions. William George Gundy, for assault, ten years’ for interference with boys and " was out on license. Joseph Pvrtle Howe, 38, carpenter, for theft at Upper Hutt, two years’ probation, on condition that restitution is made.
