APPEAL TO ALL PARTIES.
German Cabinet Crisis.
PRESIDENT INTERVENES. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 21, 7.10 p.m.) BERLIN, January 20.
President Hindenburg has written to Dr. Marx urging the speedy formation of a Cabinet, representing ail non-socialists, including the Nationalists and President I-lindenburg’s own party. The President’s letter appeals to all parties to forget thendifferences out of loyalty to the Fatherland and the constitution, but adds: If the Socialists are not represented, it will he Cabinet’s special task to safeguard the nterests of the workers, workers.
Dr. Marx accepted President I-lin-denburg’s summons, and will undertake negotiations forthwith, but he will demand that they accept Dr. Stresmann’s conciliatory foreign policy.
In view- of President Hindenburg’s implied appeal to his own party, there are good prospects of solving the cabinet problems.
