Mr F. L. Wooies. ■ Wind, strong northerly to westerly; "weather fair to cloudy, and very warm, preceding a change shortly. Outlook for week ending January 28th.—Wind, mainly northerly to westerly, strong at times; weather mainly fair and warm, but an occasional shower likely. Dominion Meteorologist. Present indications are for variable winds, but northerlies prevailing and freshening; expect warm and humid conditions, with skies clouding over, and rain following in many parts of the country. The barometer is falling. HAIL STORM IN NEW SOUTH WALES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, January 21. A terrific hailstorm swept Baiden Grove, near Dungog. Corn crops and fruit trees were stripped, and large numbers of pigs and fowls were killed. Horses and cattle also suffered severely. Hail stones weighing Bozs fell, denting roofs as if by hammers, and cutting telephone wires. Lumps of ice were round in the centre of water melons, most of which were chopped to pieces.
