By TelegTApli—Press Association OAMARU, October 8. A fifteen-rounds professional contest was staged to-night between Harry 1 Gunn (Timaru) and T. Griffiths ; (Dunedin). After an even clever ] exhibition, the verdict went to Gunn on points. (Special to the “Herald. ) Gunn and Griffiths provided a splendid contest, in which' clever footwork was a notable feature. The decision, in favour of Gunn, was generally ap- , proved, but a section of the largo audience was inclined to disagree with the judges, who were unanimous in j their verdict. ' Both lads stripped in good condition, I and'the winner showed that ho had lost | little of his cleverness. The margin of points in favour of Gunn was very 1 small, and the issue was in doubt, until ' the i’inal gong. Gunn- established a lead over tho first three rounds, and then Griffiths had a try. Gunn reasserted himself from round ten \ onwards.
