JERSEY CATTLE CLUB.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. At a meeting of the South Canterbury Jersey Cattle Club there were present—Messrs It. Muddrcn (president, in the chair); S. Unwin, F. I. AVashbourn, L. Hall, J. AV. Topliam, H. E. Martin and H. 11. Eraser (lion, secretary). A letter was received from the New Zealand Jersey Catt'o Breeders’ Association, advising that with a view to encouraging and popularising “Jersey Catile Oaks” competitions, tho Council had decided to grant u subside (not to exceed £10) of 10s in (lie £ on the prize money available for such competitions. Alter a full discussion. i(, was decided to write to last year's entrants for the Futurity Stakes inquiring whether they would he willing to agree to altered conditions so as to comply with the conditions laid down by the j Jersey Cattle Breeders’ Association, ill offering their subsidy.

Those conditions provide that the maximum points for type shall be 50; flint one point he awarded for every 101 b butter-fat up to TOOIbs, l or part thereof: Ihnt one point lie awarded for cverv lOlbs butter-fat between 401 and 5501b5, or part thereof; that one point be awarded for ovorv 81 bs fat between 5511bs and GJOlbs fat. ft was deeidod to again offer to the Timaru A. and J>.
