The Prime Minister. A cable message from Washington states that Mr Coates has arrived after a transcontinental tour from San Francisco. He will call upon President Coofidge, and then proceeds to New York, whence he sails on Saturday for England. Dr F. F. A. Ulrich lias returned from Dunedin. Mr McLeod, chief inspector of schools for Canterbury, arrived in Timaru yesterday. A London cablegram states that Mr Robert Hall, the Queensland Rhodes Scholar, has been appointed Lecturer in Economics at Trinity College, Oxford. Mr E. F. Hollands, the newly appointed electrical engineer for Timaru, in his application to the Borough Council stated that he is a registered engineer, a member of the Institute or Electrical Engineers (South Africa), an associate member of the Institute ot Electrical Engineers (.London), and an associate member of the New Zealand Society of Civil Eng.neers. Mr Hollands who is a married man 40 years of age was trained as an electrical engineer in Loudon, after which he went to South Africa to gain fuither experience.
