In the second round, Nigel Sharpe beat Gordon Cholmondeley, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3; Borotra beat A. H. Fyzee, 3- 6-4, 7-5, 6-4. In the first round of the men’s doubles, Commander Carr and E. Jones beat Summer and Fletcher, 6-4, 6-2, 4- 6-4. In the second round of the women’s singles, Mrs Mallory beat Mrs Edginton 6-2, 6-1; Miss Bowman beat Lady Crosfield, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5; Miss Joan Fry beat Miss Bennett, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5; Mrs Watson beat Miss Betty Nutball, 6-3, 6-0.
