The Wimbledon championship mooting opened in line weather with a crowded attendance, witli a, jubilation celebration in the form of it Royal pageant, wherein the King presented commemorative medals to ox-champions from the eighties to last year. Despite the absence of Miss' Helen Wills and Lacoste, international elements were strongly represented. The meeting ts noteworthy for the first appearance of a Royal entrant, the Duke of York.
