government policy CRITICISED. By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, June 22. Mr E. J. MaoManus, vile local Labour leader, stated this morning that a number ot Southland men had been placed on tho Ba.lclutha-Greenvale job, which, the Government stated was tho onlv schedule work on which it could place men. He' contended that there should bo enough public works in Southland without bringing Southland's to an Otago job; and declared that the Govcrnintent was making a political move to force the unemployment situation.
