To-morrow afternoon a special novelty candle afternoon tea will take place at the Sunny Stafford. Special candles and shades, direct from the Exhibition, together with Italian art statuary, will form the chief decorations, and a special musical programme has been arranged. The quality of the afternoon tea should further enhance the reputation of the Stafford for “excellence of service.” ....

A fine example of the bookbinder’s art is at present on view in the small window of Messrs P. W. Hutton and Co. It is an album specially made by that firm for the South Canterbury Savage Club, and the binding is full purple morpcco, with gilt edges, gold tooling on back and front, in addition to the title on the front. It is very satisfactory to find such work being executed locally.

Euchre Tournaments. —The same management as last year intends to commence a series of euchre tournaments in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Geraldine, on Tuesday, June the 29th, when we wish to meet all our team again

An advertisement appears in our advertising columns dealing with the election of two. producers’ representatives on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. The regulations provide that the various districts shall elect twenty-five delegates who will constitute an Electoral Committee, which will assemble in August and elect the producers’ representatives. In order that the candidates would be kno\s r n by a greater proportion of tlie eleciors of the district, the Board last year reduced the size of tlie various districts, thus increasing the number to ten districts instead of six. The latest official sheep returns (which at present arc those at shall be tlie electoral roll. Every sheep-owner on this list having one hundred sheep or over shall be entitled to vote for delegates to the Electoral Committee. Nominations for delegates on the Electoral Committee or for producers’ representatives may be made by any two sheepfarmers appearing on the official sheep returns as showing not less than one hundred sheep. Forms of nominations are obtainable at tlie Board’s Office, Wellington. Nominations tor delegates to the Electoral Committee will be received at the Board’s Office, Wellington, up to noon on the 15th July, whilst nominations for producers’ representatives on tlio Board will lie received up to noon on the 121li August.
