Guerin, chief sub-editor of the “Post,” died • yesterday morning, aged 63. Ho joined the staff 19 years ago, and was appointed chief iii 1922. He had not been in good health for several years. At one time he was subeditor and afterwards editor of the “Taranaki News.” He was then subeditor of the “Hawera Star,” and afterwards was in the same position with the “Taranaki Herald.” Ho leaves a son and three daughters.

DONALD ROSS. One who had long been closely associated with Burke’s Pass answered that call that none can escape, at bis residence on tho 27th Alay. Donald Ross, a native of Rosshire, came early to this country, being, as a young man, located in the Shag \ r alley district, from whence he came north forty years ago. Entering the service of tiio Bank of New Zealand when its pastoral interests, under the management of the late A. M. Air C. AVilcox, Presbyterian minister for the district. The funeral was attended by a large number of friends, and no doubt a very large following indeed would have assembled in the local cemetery had time been permitted of the sad news of the somewhat sudden demise being more widely known. ATr Ross married Helen daughter of Air and Aire Bowie, of Alii ton, and is survived by liis widow, lour sons and a daughter. Hie eldest lien saw considerable wax* service during tho late World AVar.
