OBITUARY.
MISS NELLIE WATTS. Quite a gloom was cast over Rangitata Island when it became known that Miss Nellie Watts had passed away oil Monday;night. 'The kite--Miss Waits was' born at Pairlie, and while a child- of tender years removed to Rangitata Island with her parents. She was tho third and youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Watts. Of a happy and loving disposition-* her death is. depiored by all who knew ’her. She showed great musical ability and was always pleased to use her talent for the enjoyment of others. The sympathy of the whole district is with Mr and Airs Watts and family in their irreparable loss. The remains of tho late Miss' Watts were laid to -rest on - Wednesday in the cemetery at Temuka. The funeral was a large one, many friends coming from all over tho to pay their last respects to the deceased. Tho Rev. N. Watson officiated at the graveside. The bearers were Mc.ssns Jack and Bernley Watts, brothers, 11. Watts, uncle, and J. W. Miller, cousin. Many beautiful wreaths were sent .with expression;; of sympathy, including one from tho Rangitata School children. As a mark of respect the flag was flown at half-mast and the school was closed ' for the day. The Miniature Rifle Club also postponed its weekly meeting, j--.. - \
