GUN CLUB.
SHOOT AT SALTWATER CREEK,
The Timaru Gun Club held a very successful shoot at Saltwater Creek on Saturday last. The day being line, some very good spoofing was witnessed by a very large number of spectators.
Tho principal match, for a’ sweepstake of £l, which drew a nomination of twenty-two shooters, was divided by AV. R. Grant, D. Sto well, P. M. O'Connor and J. Gardiner, who shot all their birds (10). These were closely followed by P. McDonald, AAL Stevens, T. Treziso, I. Dempsey, L. Fenwick, N. BroWn, AV. Dunsan, A. Huston, and J. Little, with .nine kills'each. Mr J. Hole’s first-barrel trophy was keenly contested for, and eventually resulted in a win for D. Stowell with eight first barrels. In a first-miss-out, which drew eighteen nominations, AV. Stevens won on (he fifth bird, P. McDonald being a good second with’four. This concluded a very ' pleasant afternoon’s sport. The Club will hold a similar shoot on dune sth.
