MODERN WOMAN.
DENOUNCED BY MERE MAN. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association LONDON, May 2. Mr St. John Irvine, speaking at Birmingham, declared that the English theatre was being ruined- by women. A law should immediately be introduced forbidding the admittance of any woman under 40, and the attendances of those older should b e restricted to twice yearly. Most London audiences were women. He concluded, midst shouts and protests, by boldly asserting that women were inadequate companions for men, who were their intellectual superiors.
