COLERIDGE OVERLOADED.
Demand in Excess of Capacity. WARNING TO CONSUMERS. By Telegraph—Press association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 2.The Public Works Department announces that in ease ot excessive overload during the next few months, Lake Coleridge electric power may have to be cut oft' temporarily as a measure of protection. Conditions of overload will become more severe in the next two months of winter. The supply to date has been maintained only by the close cooperation of large consumers who 1 have on request materially reduced' their demand during the “peak load” 1 hours. Until additional plant at Lake Coleridge is installed . the demand for, power will be far in excess of -the capacity of the present plant.
