(From Our Own Correspondent). 'TOWN BOARD. ’The monthly meeting of the. Town Board was attended by tin.' loilowiug commissioners.—Messrs M. I. Maze (chairman), (,:. Saunders, H. Christie, G. Crazier, and H Friel. A letter was read from the Board s •solicitors, stating that it would be necessary to get the .sanction of the ratepayers, should the Board wish to define a special area for lighting purposes, excluding the farmers in the town district. Alter discussion, [Messrs Saunders and Crozier moved: —“That all properties of over RO acres be exempt from, the street-lighting rate proposals. • Carried. . . Messrs Saunders and Christie moved : “That arrangements be made with the Bower Board for -3 street lights, .at a cost of about £IOO per annum. Carried.

Mr Saunders said it would be. necessary to not.ifv the Power Board of the position of the lights almost immediately. so as to enable them to go on with the reticulation of the township.
