MR ALAN SHRIMPTON.
VOICE PRODUCTION AND TUITION
Having concluded a shven veais t^i" 1 of Australia where lie has sung in the leading theatres ol : the Commonwealth., the return of Mr Allan Shnnipton should prove, a-welcome addition to the. musical community of limaru. Air Slirimbtoh, ..who intends taking P ll P*,•? lor voice production and a.nging and is opening a studio, in Tekapa Buildings, early' in the Now Year, was a pupil oi that well 'known musician, -'Li n. Nevill-Smithj of Timaru. After studying .under Mr binith. f Ol four years Mr Shnnipton, upon .the advice of Paul Dufault, decided to take up singing professionally. His first professional engagement was in A\ cl lington, and after touring New Zealand he joined the Walter Johnson Revue Gompanv, with which ho went to Australia. When this company disbanded AD Shrimpton wont into vaudevil e, ana toured the Puller Circuit. Judging by the splendid press reports received lie had little difficulty in securing numerous engagements on this, and otlici circuits. Describing his voice as an expressive and highly .cultured baritone, Australian cr.tics predicted for him a successful season, a prediction which was afterwards lul tilled by lengthy engagements throughout the Commonwealth. Later Mr Shnnipton joined Bert Le Blanc's Travesty Stars with whom he toured New Zealand. A prc : vious tour of the Dominion was also made in 1921 with the ‘ Odds ami Ends” Company under the direction of Messrs J. and N. Tait. Mi'S Shrimpton is also well known to the theatrical profession having been ■speciality dancer in “Mother Hubbaid, “Aladdin,” “Sinbad.” a.nd other pantomimes. As Miss Alvei Wilson, was also a member ot the ‘Odds and Ruck;’’ company and Bert Le Blancs Travesty Stars, being ballet mistress ot the last named combination at the time of her marriage to Mr Shrimpton, an event which was celebrated by a large •fathering of members of the prote-feA.on at the Austral Hotel, Adelaide, m March 192.-‘S. . . With tlffr experience gained in association with so many well known artists and producers on the vnucevillc and concert 'platforms, Air Shrimpton s services should ho much sought after, possessing, as he does, m addition to a sound musical training, the ability, born of actual professional experience, to instruct in the often neglected art of stage deportment. ...
