THE SCHOOLS.

CRAIGHEAD. The breaking-up ceremony and distribution of prizes at the Craighead Girls’ School was marred bv rain, and an adjournment indoors .to necessary. Complete arrangements had been made for the occasion in the beautiful grounds of the school, and it was most unfortunate that all arrangements were so hurriedly upset. The Yen. Archdeacon J. A. Julius again presented th e prizes, but before doing so delivered a most interesting and instructive address on recent educational work in England. He spoke of tile observations lie had made on his recent visit to the Old Country, and. of tile great advancement that was being made in secondary schools, chiefly among the hoys. He also .spoke highly of the work Miss S. Mason was doing in connection with the-Parents’ National Educational Movement, and in conclusion congratulated the pupils on the fine work they had done during tile year. During the afternoon a very enjoyable musical programme was given by the girls.. The prize list is as follows: CERTIFICATES. ... \
