SCHOOL SPORTS.
NORTH END PARK TO-AIORROAV The children’s .sports meeting to ba bold under in the North End Park tomorrow afternoon promises to provide a. capital afternoon’s enjoyment for both, young and old. A comprehensive programme including over forty items, lor hoys and girls, and for ages ranging from 8 years and under, to open events, lias been drawn up. A number of novelty events have also been included, and arc calculated to provide a great ileal of amusement-. A tug of-war contest for teams of six bore eaeb lias been provided for in the pr.ze list, and should attract good entries. The total weight of each team :s not to exceed •»' 45 stone, and tin; duration of each pull lias been limited'to a period of one and a half minutes. Aggregate contests have been specified, in which points will bo allowed to the placed competitors, a, championship trophy, to be held for one year, to bo awarded to tli; primary school gaining most points in the championship section. Afternoon tea. soft drinks and ice cream, etc., will ho. obtainable and for the benefit of the children, iody scrambles and other attractions wili be arranged. A special time-table giving a quick bus service to and from the North End Park has been arranged by the Borough Council.
