In the House of Commons, the Liberals and Labourites made a final effort to kill"the Safeguarding of Industries Bill, by moving its rejection on the ground that the extra employment given would be more than counterbalanced by the injury done exporters.
The motion was rejected, and the Bill read a third time by 245 votes to 132.
