ARGENTINE’S WHEAT.
CORRECTED ESTIMATES OF YIELD. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Houter's Telegrams. (Received December 17, 7.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, December 16. A Chicago message contains a correction of Tuesday’s announcement of the Argentine Government report on the wheat yield, which should read: “Two Argentine provinces yield 45 million bushels, compared with 92 million bushels last year.’'
REPORT FROM ARGENTINE. REVISING TILE ESTIMATES. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Keiiter’s Telegrams. (Received December 17, 5.5 p.m.) BUENOS AYRES, December 16. It is announced that the Argentine wheat yield is estimated at 5,845,000 metric tons, in the second official forecast, against 6,400,000 metric tons in the first estimate on November 14. A message from Rosario (Santa Fe province) says that the report of the Ministry of Agriculture issued on Tuesday concerning the extent of the damage to wheat in Northern Argentina, caused surprise in Rosario grain circles, owing to the variance between the official and private reports. The official report fixes the damage to wheat at 18.16 "per cent, in the province of Corclqba,, whereas provincial and private reports indicate that it run as high as '7O per cent, in that province.- T , . The despatch adds: The Provincial Agricultural Bureau estimates the damage in Santa Fe at a much higher figure than that given by the Ministry of Agriculture, which was 42.5 per cent.
