The New limp ire Act offers to agriculturists and house workers from the United Kingdom, transportation to their destination m Canada at a lower rate than for a generation, according to the Department of Immigration and Colonisation. A comparison of regular rates from ports in the United Kingdom, with the rates available to Empire Settlement passengers, shows remarkable reductions. The new rates are about onequarter to about oue-sixtb. the regulai rates. The Immigration Department, in a statement, says: “It will bring the cost of the passage to immigrants within reach of practically all British settlers of the classes sought, and will enable an Empire settle passenger to enable an Empire settler passenger to debt to be paid.”
