At tho wool sales there was an average selection in all classes, with keen competition among Home trade buyers lot crossbreds, at the lower basis of values. There was a steady demand for good merinos at late rates, but withdrawals were frequent BRADFORD MARKET. At Bradford, crossbreds were dull, with an easier tendency. ! PAPUAN RUBBER CO. The statutory meeting of shareholders of the Papuan Rubber and Copra Company, Ltd. was held in Christchurch on tho 11th inst. The directors reported' that of the 1300 £lO shares available for pub ic subscription, 1005 had been subscribed for and allotted. The transfer of the plantation property and other assets from tho late owners, the Papuan Products Co., Ltd. (iii liquidation), had been diny made, , the transfer being duly approved of by the Administrator of the Territory of Papua. The Company’s manager took charge at tho plantation early in September, and the first shipment of 19001bs of smoked sheet rubber from (the plantation realised 3s 3d by auction ’in Sydney in October. The all-in Cost of production was under 9d per lb. - The'yield' was showing a steady increase, but. the; increase would bo greater . when the whole of the rubber areas were! --..clean weeded, after tho next few months.
