The third match of the New Zealanu cricket team’s tour opened to-day, the visitors playing Wagga. The home team batted first and mao.. 102. New Zealand replied with 272 for •six wickets. The wicket was in good order. New Zealand won the toss and sent Wagga in. The latter opened disastrously, Hamilton being caught by Lowry off the last ball of the first ovoj . Wagga’s batting was moderate. Gilchrist was sound on the defensive, and helped to add 30 for the fifth wicket. Oliver’s catch which dismissed Susick, was a hard one, splendidly taken. Cunningham proved deadly witli the ball. He took three wickets for twenty-two runs in seven overs. New Zealand’s opening jiair, Blunt and Worker, soon played themselves in, and batted splendidly. They took the total to 60, when the bowler accepted a hard return from Blunt. Lowry was dismissed by a full toss. Dacre batted aggressively. Ho hit two sixes and eight fours.
