SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST MOTORIST. By Telegraph—Press Association. HAMILTON. December 14. As a sequel to a fatality on tho Ohaupo road on Saturday night, Charles Leonard Davis was charged with being drunk while in charge of a motor-lorry, and by an act in relation thereto having caused the death of Ernest Thomas White. An application by tho police for a remand was granted, bail being allowed in £2OO.

Frederick Edward Honvood pleaded guilty to stealing Lot) 14s from tho j Farmers’ Auctioneering Company, and was committed for sentence. Accused, : a clerk employed by tho company, ' entered the premises by a skylight, j obtained the key of the safe, and purloined the money. He bulled tho spoil, all of which, with the exception of £ls, was recovered.
