RELIEF EXPRESS TRAINS: From 19th DECEMBER to sth JANUARY Relief Express Trains will run DAILY (Sunday excepted), leaving Christchurch for Dunedin at 9.10 a.m., and Dunedin for Christchurch at 9.5 a.in. These trains will also run on 9th JANUARY. ON 23rd and 24th DECEMBER and 2nd JANUARY Relief Express Train leaves Christchurch for Dunedin 12.40 p.m., and Dunedin for Christchurch 12 noon. ON 2 3rd and 24th DECEMBER train leaves Christchurch for Dunedin 10.25 p.m., and Dunedin for Christchurch 10.20 p.m. ON 9th JANUARY train leaves Dunedin for Christchurch 9.45 p.m. ON SUNDAY, 3rd JANUARY train leaves Christchurch for Dunedin 5.50 a.m., and Dunedin for Christchurch 5.25 a.in. ON- SUNDAY, 10 th JANUARY train leaves Christchurch for Dunedin 8.50 a.m. ON 25th DECEMBER ALL trains between Ashburton and Qamaru will be suspended with the following exceptions:—; The Up and Down Mail and Express Trains. 9.10 a.m. Christchurch-Dunedin and 9.5 a.m. Dunedin-Christchurch Relief Express Trains. Train leaves Waihao Downs for Studholme 11.8 a.m. Trains leave 'Waimate for Studholme 11.58 a.m., 3.7 p.m., and 3.55 p.m., returning leaving Studholme 1.6 p.m., 3.30 p.m., and 4.37 p.m. (runs to Waihao Downs). RACES AT ASHBURTON. CARNIVAL AT TEMUKA. ON 26th DECEMBER usual 11.10 a.m. Ashburton-Timaru and 11.36 a.m. Timaru-Ashburton trains will NOT run. Usual 7.55 a.m. train leaves Ashburton 7.5 Q a.ln., Temuka 9.37, Timaru arrive 10.12 a.m. Usual 7.,40 a.m. train leaves Timaru 8.10 a.m., Temuka 8.43, Ashburton arrive 10.38 a.m. Train leaves Timaru 10.23 a.m., Temuka arrive 11.0 a.m., returning leaving Temuka 5.5 p.m., Timaru arrive 5.40 p.m. These trains take passengers to and from Temuka only. Usual 4.5 p.m. train leaves ASliburton 6.5 p.m., Temuka ' 7.58, Timaru arrive 8.28 p.m. Usual 4.25 p.m. train leaves Timaru 4.40 p.m., Pleasant Fairlie arrive 6.46 p.m. Usual 4.37 p.m. train leaves Timaru 6.20 p.m., Temuka 6.18; Ashburton arrive 8.10 p.m. Cheap Excursion Tickets will be issued from Timaru to Temuka fcy trains leaving Timaru at 8.10 a.m. and 10.23 a.m., available for return by trains leaving Temuka at 5.5 p.m. and 7.58 p.m. FARES first class 2/3, second class 1/6. Passenger train leaves Christchurch 7.45 a.m., arriving Timaru 10.54 a.m., returning leaving Timaru 5.41 p.m.; arriving Christchurch 8.45 p.m. WAIMATE SPORTS.
