The agreement would remain in force for one yeqr. Mr Stopford, .addressing the men, said the old -mine ivas cosed, and no resolution passed by any meeting could have the effect of re-opening it. Unfortunately, 'the new workings ‘could not 'absorb the 1500 employees, who Were at present at Mount Morgan. The Government would provide free railway passes for men desiring to go further afield.
