At a meeting of the Labour Commonwealth Group, Mr Lansbury insisted on the necessity of Labour developing an Imperial policy, before the Party was next in office. Personally he favoured a policy aiming at the unity of Britain, and the Dominions, the Colonies and India, in order that as the Commonwealth developed, it would work for the good of the wholo race.
